This project is a personal one, inspired by the unlucky symbolic associated with black cats. It portrays a man receiving bad news and then having a cat jump from his shoulder to his phone screen. The text then displays “If you got bad news, get a black cat”.

The most difficult part was the addition of 2D traditional animation on top of my motion design. It was indeed the first time I was mixing those two techniques. In the end the jump required me to animate by hand more than fifteen frames.
